The Monterey History & Art Association Poster Collection
The Monterey History and Art Association maintains a collection of art, event, and special celebration posters, many dating back more than fifty years. The collection includes a number of original works signed by the artists. A large part of the collection is composed of event posters created for the Adobe Tours. These tours began in 1947 and for many years were annual events. The collection includes event programs that were used as tickets for the participating historic buildings, and these includes tour maps, adobe histories and architectural descriptions, and other items of interest.
