J.C. Anthony, Jr.
J.C. Anthony Jr. died on December 21, 1965 of a heart attack in San Jose. He was born Aug. 14, 1904, in Monterey. He attended the local schools (rode horse back to high school from the family farm in what later became part of Fort Ord). He also attended Heald’s Business College in San Francisco, and then worked with his father in the building contractor business for several years. When the contracting business failed during the depression (1933), J. C. Jr. moved to San Jose where he established and operated the Anthony Machine Shop of San Jose which produced precision machinery parts, mostly under government contract.
